Natures Retreat is a truly special place, the house, pool and grounds are extremely well kept and the fishing is excellent, with superbly conditioned hard fighting carp. The location is remote enough to create a perfect haven to unwind and relax, yet close enough to a few local towns, catering for all your needs. The house is a mix of traditional French decor and modern living, with a beautiful kitchen equipped with all the appliances and utensils you would need. The bedrooms are very spacious and thoughtfully decorated, to further enhance the appeal of the property. The pool and hot tub area, nestled directly at the side of the house is the perfect spot to cool down after soaking in the hot weather, our children were rarely out of it! Gary is the perfect host, available whenever required and nothing appears to be too much trouble for him, to ensure you get the best of your holiday and fishing. We have stayed in France at various properties over the years and usually compromised on certain aspects to find the right holiday, well not with Natures Retreat and it’s easy to appreciate why Gary has a number of repeat clients. We caught 8 carp up to 41lb 4oz, the smallest being 21lb and the majority being high twenties, early thirties. In addition we caught at least 10 tench weighing up to 7lb 8oz, all caught using the lake boilies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning as soon as we possibly can.

It's relaxing calm and quiet with fantastic spacious accommodation and family oriented outdoor activities along with the added benefit of a well stocked carp lake suitable for the experienced angler.
Wow!! What an amazing place... don’t think you can just cast them in the side and the fish will come to you. You will need to spend time thinking where, how, when then figure out how to achieve it.... if you plan properly the results will come. Over a week we had 2 in the teens, 3 twenties, 3 thirties and 2 forties - biggest going a whopping 44lb 5oz.... the gear to rent is good quality, the bait on-site is plentiful and reasonable and Gary (and his dogs) will give a warm welcome. Natures Retreat is a simply stunning place, the house is both luxurious and “authentic” in equal measures and the grounds are beautiful, when you are outside all you can hear are the birds and crickets it is such a peaceful and relaxing place to be. Gary and Fran are lovely people and Gary went way above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had a great time and literally nothing was too much trouble....... and as for the fishing...... the lake is beautiful and the carp are in fantastic condition, unfortunately we didn’t get one of the real beasts on our trip (I’m coming back next year for them) but we did catch 14 Carp up to 38lb with 7 over 30lb and none below 20lb along with 4 Tench up to 7lbs, a word of advice with the fishing, Listen to Gary he knows what he is talking about when it comes to spots baits etc, and take good care of the fish they are pristine! Thanks Gary and Fran I’ll be back next year!
This place is great, the location is relaxing and welcoming - the business owner was very freindly and helpful with setting us up and continued support throughout me and my peoples' stay. You have to use a certain type of bait for the health of the lake or something but it's fine because it's sold by the owner and for a reasonable price.
