Best fishing trip ever! Amazing lake and well kept, great food and company. Caught numerous big carp with a French Mirror carp PB of 53lb...booked in for another trip 2020 and can't wait to be there!
I've fished many lakes in France over the years and have found that quite a few of them have a couple of swims that produce well while the rest of the lake is tough going. No doubt you will have experienced this for yourselves. A look at the Cherpont catch reports will reveal that this is not the case here as the shoals of large carp move around the lake regularly so good catches are usually possible in every swim on the lake. In twelve trips to Cherpont I have never blanked and most trips have produced 40lb specimens for me. In 2017 one of our group banked ten 40lb and one 50lb in a total of twenty carp in the week. The catch reports will also reveal that the average weight of the carp is in the high 30lb bracket and has hit the 40lb mark on occasions. Where else could this be achieved? Dan and Jackie are great hosts with Jackies cooking being another great feature so you won't go hungry here. It's a fair old trek down to Limoges but it's worth every mile to fish this fantastic venue! I absolutely love this place!
Cherpont has so many good qualities it’s hard to get them all down on here but I have been going there for the last 18 years and all tho I have been to a good few other places there is nowhere that offers what Cherpont does.. I normally go at least twice a year and also take my two children with me who also love the place. The hosts Danny and Jacky and the nicest people you will ever meet being very friendly and helpful, the food is second to none and the location is picture perfect! The fishing is something else with my average week normally being between 25 to 35 carp to my own rods and an average fish size being very close to the 40lb mark!! Last year I had 37 carp in a week with 7 of those being over 50lb and another 14 being over the 40lb bracket! Even my 8 year old son has a pb of 39lb so there really isn’t much more you can ask for in a fishery! I would highly recommend Cherpont to anyone thinking of going to France
Cherpont is a stunning venue, I love it there & enjoy every minute spent there. You get well looked after by Dan & Jackie, if you want for something just ask. The food is superb, the fish are superb. A good 'Craic' as the Irish say! p.s Dan even let me drink his Guinness, thats hospitality at its best! Go there & enjoy.
Brilliant water, one of the best we have fished in France. Really good head of 40's, a good number of 50's a few starting to top 60 again now. Great hosts, quiet and the scenery is superb what more could you want... Loved it and hoping to come back soon.
Good food is an understatement...food is top notch, proper people, proper fishing ...proper loved it ....
Been to Cherpont three times. Beautiful lake. Friendly, helpful hosts. Wonderful food and superb fish to over 60lbs. What’s not to like? Thoroughly recommended .
