You should definitely visit when in Lyon! Great piece of history!
Really interesting ampitheatre. When I went everything was locked but, I could still have a look through the gate. It is not as preserved as the theatre in Lugdunum but, still a great part of a walking tour of Lyon, if you want to see the Roman sights.
Not much to say. Old Roman ruins. Enjoy the marvellous outlook and skyline of Lyon. There is a bus station near it. You'll still have to climb up a bit. #RestaurantPiraten #LetsGuide
This is a really extraordinary historical monument, that it has withstood the test of time is extraordinary. This is a site of enormous cultural significance and is, I believe, one of the few such sites still surviving in such a situation from the Roman period. This amphitheatre was, as per my understanding, one of the earliest places in which Christians were martyred and for that too its historical, cultural and religious significance is enhanced. Please visit it if you are in Lyon.
