Good looking and well maintained. A bit small though. Be careful it opens quite late.
I was thrilled by this park. There are a lot of nice exotic plants and the long vistas look amazing. One of the most beautiful botanic gardens I ever saw in my life. I hope I can return one day.
Beautiful and calm place, we didn't even realize we spent 2 hours there. Definitely a must go in Montpellier.
Such a lovely and cozy place right in the heart of this town. Often not very crowded. Best enjoyed with a book !
Walking around Montpellier always brings emotions. The Garden of Plants of Montpellier (in French, jardin des plantes de Montpellier) is a university botanical garden that is part of the heritage of the University of Montpellier 2. It is the oldest botanical garden in France (1593).
I visited in March which is admittedly not the best time of year. A number of areas were closed for maintenance so I couldn't enter the orangerie or hothouse. However, it's a peaceful place for a stroll, is free to enter, has some nice bamboo and several cats!
Nice quiet escape from all the shopping and touristy things to do in Montpellier. The garden could do with a little more watering and care, but it's still pretty with a good variety of plants. It would probably be a good place for a picnic. Only wish the greenhouse was opened!
