There was much to see when we visited Chateau de Montsoreau. The structure is well maintained and it overseas the beautiful see and the river. We spent about 30 minutes or so just exploring the building. Just like most of stopovers in France, we simply visited this chateau because we were staying Saumur for the night. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place unless I was near by.

An amazing museum in an amazing castle. Take 1h30 to see everything and enjoy the breathtaking view from the terrace. The restaurant too is great. We loved it.

Standing at 45 meters high, this chateau built in 1443 dominates the town and represents a landmark for navigators of the river Loire, the relaxing banks of which attract many visitors, although sometimes bathing warning notices are posted concerning the algae ( see photo )

What an amazing place. Totally steeped in history and central to the development of France and England. The audio guide was great and took me round most of the site with lots of information. Loads of additional displays and exhibitions too. I was there three hours but could have stayed so much longer

Frankly great! The exhibitions are varied and always very interesting, modern art that makes you think while being entertaining ... In short, finally a museum that has understood everything!

Beautiful, magical place. Presented really well. Queueing minimal for tickets as went for about 2pm as open til 8pm. Be aware though, we went on a Wed and because we went later, the selection of food was limited as they stop serving at 4pm. All info in French and English. Loved it all, gardens and riverside setting stunning.
