I was visiting merignac on business. I was about to go into Bordeaux for my evening prayers when I decided to Google if there was a masjid (mosque) in merignac. To my naive surprise there was a masjid close to my hotel. After visiting the masjid I noticed the hal'n shop opposite. I decided to pop in to by a chocolate shack. When I entered the shop it was like entering into a north african souk. The atmosphere was buzzing. The butcher's counter at the rear of the shop was vibrant. I counted over a dozen customers being served by 2 very bubbly butcher's. The rest of the shop had a wide variety of middle Eastern and European goods and produce. The assistant at the till was very friendly. Spoke good English to make me feel comfortable. I came out with over 2 bags of goodies. Prices very reasonable. Great experience. I will be back there soon.
