The author of the marble Tritons’ Fountain is unknown. The Lascaris family brought these four Tritons from Greece at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1920 fountain was declared a historical monument. It was sheltered during the II World War. (in Greek mythology Triton is a fish-tailed sea-god, the son of Poseidon)
