The chapel itself is being renovated at the moment but the scale of the French cemetery is something to behold and very sobering. Across the road there is a British cemetery in the field with 83 buried there. A lasting reminder of the indelible marks that The Great War had on this landscape and families around Britain and Europe. The way that the cemetery is just THERE behind a house in an unassuming plot of land with the field ploughed right up to the walls of it mark it as just \part of the furniture\ of the landscape but also a constant reminder of the horrors that the Somme has seen. Never forgotten.

Je ne peux décrire avec les mots ce que je ressens en venant ici. Aussi étrange que cela puisse paraître j'ai été submergé par une vague d'AMOUR. Toutes ces personnes qui ont offert leur vie pour la patrie. Ça mérite le plus profond RESPECT. Que tous ces soldats (voire quelques civils), quelque soit leur confession (chrétienne, juive ou musulmane), qui se sont battus à côté des uns et des autres et qui ont donné leur vie pour la France. On ne peut avoir que de L'ADMIRATION pour tous. Je crois qu'aujourd'hui d'aucuns feraient bien de se SOUVENIR de cela au lieu d'essayer de monter les communautés religieuses les unes contre les autres. QUE TOUS REPOSENT EN PAIX.
