Not a bad train station. It is nothing grand or spectacular, just your typical train station in France. There is not much seating and it is kind of small and crowded. If you are traveling to Rouen it is the way to go though. You will not be here very long so it is not too much of an issue. If you rent a car it is a bit of a nightmare returning it. Rouen-Rive-Droite is a large railway station serving the city of Rouen, Normandy, France. The station is on Rue Verte in the north of the city. Services are mainly intercity but many services are local. There are also TGV from Le Havre to Marseille-Saint-Charles and to Strasbourg. The station opened its doors in 1847 when the Rouen–Le Havre section of the Paris–Le Havre railway opened to service. The line previously had its terminus at Rouen Rive-Gauche. With the increase in traffic, the construction of the new station on the North bank of the River Seine started. The station building was designed in Art Nouveau style by architect Adolphe Dervaux, with commissioned sculpture by Camille Lefèvre. The station was inaugurated on 4 July 1928 by French President Gaston Doumergue. At first named Rue Verte, the station then changed name to Rive-Droite. In 1994 an interchange was built to serve Rouen métro.
Modern, easily to navigate train station with 4 platforms. Great service to Paris, La Havre and Dieppe. Just read the board and you’ll be okay. Keep in mind that not a lot of people speak English here, so you absolutely need a bit of French to get by.
The person at the information desk doesn’t speak English. Really? I thought foreign tourists need help the most but who else can help them there if not her? Not even one word in English on their signs as well. Past century...
Very nice station. Easy to navigate with signs in french and English.
Like the Art Deco atmosphere
Currently under renovations, the train station is simple, yet slightly elegant in style. The main hall is quite big with ticket windows with reach and lots of ticket machines at your disposal. The platforms are easy to access, yet not accessible for those with disabilities until renovations are complete.
Easy and small station. Signs in English and French, well posted signs.
