The museum was founded in memory of all those young men who died on d-day in 1944. and you will find several dioramas and displays with genuine items collected over the years. I is well light and doesn't have any of the overblown mood lighting the modern museum are so fond of these day, It has a classic layout, great information, pictures and display cashed with items everywhere. Outside you will find a Pak 43 88mm gun this gun would have been place in some of the bunker on Omaha and today you still can find one inside the bunker which is a 30 minute walk away from this museum.

We came by just after New Year and it looked like they weren't open yet. The museum is on the road that leads to the beach so it is hard to miss. There were quite a few things in the parking lot including artillery guns and a tank. We just parked out in the driveway and had a quick look at these items. It would have been nice to have gone in but we made due with what we had.
A great museum if you are interested in World War II and especially since Omaha is where a brunt of the action took place, it is very informative and awe-inspiring. They have a great 25 min film (both in English and French) that you can watch inside. Reasonably priced visit.
All though you have to pay a few euros to get in this place is a great stop. So much collected from machine guns to cannons. Shells and hand grenades. Uniforms, patch’s, and post cards. A must stop on your Normandy tour. Check out the video as well talking about operation Overlord and the landings. Very informative. My kids learned so much. Even has a vending machine with great hot chocolate.
It's great for any generation. I loved this museum ...one of the best in Normandy. One can see personal objects, historic documents, vehicles, uniforms and weapons. One can see a short film and dive into photos from 1944.
A great little museum, we however arrived a bit late, we still had time to see everything you can see around the shop. Lots of different Lego on display and for sale. The pin badges here were at a good price so if you are planning to buy a few for a cap, friends or jacket get them here save yourself a few . Short cycle from here and we were on Omaha beach. Thanks again
The museum setting is too old style. Lots of mannequins in scenes reconstructions. The movie is very old and does not give justice to its important content. It could be done in a much better way, with more tech, interactions and contemporary language.
Liked it well enough. Personal letters from the operation and artifacts found in the area (saw a couple retrieved in 2003). They play a 20 minute movie to go along with the somewhat small museum. Still worth checking out. Great souvenir stop as well.
