It was against this tower that the Anglo-Dutch tried to operate an \infernal machine\ in 1663, which consisted of a ship full of explosives that was sent near the tower to explode it. It is one of the main fortified towers of the walls. It is 23 meters high and 13 meters wide, and was part of the desire to make of Saint-Malo an important fortress. It was built on a rocky promontory during the second half of the 15th century. It takes its present name in 1691, when it was rebuilt.

One of the very few places in Europe I liked. Mainly people ruined the experience of travelling Europe for me. But spent a nice time in St. Malo in general, got to drive a left hand car and food was not too bad. This pic of my ma is one of the last pics of her and I was happy to be here with her. This is at the base of the Towers stairs. She was afraid of heights and confined spaces.

Its a nice place for great views over the bay and beach. Start your rampart walk from here or go down on to the beach during low tide. Be careful of speedy winds. Take a lot of pictures of the town and the English Channel.
