Fantastic ski resort. Most advanced transportation system (lifts, cable cars, trains, buses) I've seen. Endless ski options. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing place for snowboard or ski. Endless ski slopes ( linked by network of lifts), 100% snow guaranteed therefore Ski passes not cheap but absolutely worth it.
My friends and I came here last March for our annual ski vacation. We discovered an amazing ski resort, with hundreds of kilometres of ski trails for all levels. The commute between the different ski areas is easy and intuitive, and the local employees are kind and helpful. It Should be said though - the night life here are not very developed, we spent most of the evenings at the hotel. Yet our time in Tignes was an unforgettable experience.
Great place, loads to do and try but do not go with Alpine Elements as the experience was awful. Staff sullen and almost felt we were interrupting THEIR time. Rushed dinners... No smiling... No answers to queries... No help with booking activities... In fact no help at all. The only person I could praise was Alex the barman... He was friendly, helpful, kind, thoughtful and hard working.. Watch out Alpine Elements somebody will steal him. My husband and I had stains on our duvet and mattress... Not from us!!! The pillows had yellow stains on them... Yuk!!! I have to give credit where it is due... The food was OK... But as mentioned we were rushed... Not what you want on holiday!!!! Would we book with them again... No no no.
Tignes is expensive but, when allowed, has a fantastic glacier as well as conventional pistes for skiing. Accommodation varies a lot from undersized to luxurious - watch out for the cramped ones, they are not to everyone's taste!
Love the resort of Tignes, world class skiing and as a high altitude resort generally great conditions all season. Tignes le lac is my favourite if all the resorts, great access to all parts of the ski area, more of village feel and gets more sunshine than Val Claret.
Brilliant place to spend a week downhill mountain biking. Loads to do as well off the bike with the mytignes card all for free. Great for families to come away in the summer, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, pedalos, swimming pool, tennis, football etc. Plus a ton of walking trails all with free lift access.
