Official account for the historic American Legion Paris Post 1. Established on the December 13, 1919, Paris Post 1 has the distinguished honor of being the first international post of the American Legion. In the aftermath of World War 1, the American Legion was created in the 7th Arrondisement of Paris in March 1919. Later that year, our founding members who remained in France after the war started Paris Post 1. We are a self-funded veterans non-profit association dedicated to assisting veterans and their families who live overseas in France. Our members annual dues support Paris Post 1, the American Legion National in the USA and the Department of France in Europe. Our veteran members are apart of the community here in Paris and throughout France. We are open to connecting with military veterans who are interested in the legacy of our post, and for those who would like to join Paris Post 1. We have members all over the world. We are open to recruiters contacting us with job opportunities. We have veterans and family who are currently in the workforce in France.
