I loved everything about my time here last year. The incredible food Tom made left me leaving with very little room in my trousers. The beautiful scene was idyllic in the sunshine. Marlene was lovely and is a fabulous teacher. Her home and school are really wonderful. The room was delightful. Everything so well planned out. It was all amazing.

This was THE most amazing and wonderful food course I've ever done and one I will remember fondly for ever. Marlene and Tom were so warm and welcoming and looked after us just perfectly. From the moment Marlene picked us up from the station to the Earl Grey teabags slipped into my room when I mentioned i prefer the tea, to the fabulous clearly explained lessons with the interesting science bit behind the recipes, to the fab local tours of patisserie shops, to the chocolate shop tour, to the making, baking, creating, eating of our creations, to the fantastic meals and aperitifs, to the comfortable bedrooms, to the other participants on the course, to the lovely garden with their pretty cat and fun loving dog, to Marlene's lovely two daughters, to all the attention of hosting us perfectly to the very end when our train was cancelled and Marlene raced us all round the region to get us back home safely. WOW! So memorable. Thank you so very very much. I've already tried some of the recipes and they came out pretty well. Looking forward to making some more. Thank you thank you thank you. Highly recommended!
I'm completely torn about writing this review, half of me wants to sing from the roof tops about how fabulous it is and the other half wants to keep it a secret. I was expecting to enjoy some baking in a picturesque setting, but Marlene and Tom make it so much more. The baking and excursions are perfectly structured, the accommodation is luxe and the meals are exceptional. I fear I'm ruined for the rest of my trip! My only complaint is that their cat wouldn't give me the time of day! I left with a full tummy and a very full heart, delighted to be a part of the Le Gargantua family.
Absolutely amazing! 5 days of cooking with Marlene was one of the best life experiences I will have. Both Marlene and Tom are lovely people and very welcoming to their home and kitchen. Marlene's cooking knowledge is fantastic and everything is treated with uttermost respect. Group size of 6 is perfect! Be prepared for lots of fun and plenty of laughs. Thank you Marlene and Tom
From the moment you meet Marlene at the station you just know that the experience us going to be fun. The hospitality both Marlene and Tom show you is like non you will experience on a holiday again. The rooms are clean, chic, comfortable and quiet. The food is amazing, you eat 5* every meal. The tuition for the patisserie course was not only clear and instructive but amazing fun. I'm already planning a return next year, but this time to visit new friends. Thank you both for a wonderful experience.
Fantastic experience!! My wife and I had the best vacation of our lives in Gascony, due in large part to Marlene and the Le Gargantua course. We learned quite a bit in the kitchen, but were also impressed by our trips to the open-air markets, winery visit (thank you Gilbert), and a wonderful chocolate shop. Marlene's expertise combined with the cultural experience as well as the camaraderie developed with the other course attendees made this an experience to remember. I highly recommend Le Gargantua to anyone with a passion for food and the remarkable Gascon experience.
Simply the most amazing place to stay in France. Everything about our visit was perfect: The most friendly hosts you could ever have, beautiful location, amazing bedroom equipped with everything you could want. And the food, oh man the food is the best. If you come to France, this place is a must.
