The amphitheatre and large mosaic in Grand are a short walk apart with a single ticket covering entry to both. It was 4 Euro/adult at entry (August 2019). The mosaic is exceptional in its size, the damage to the centre leaves one wondering what was depicted in that scene. With the mosaic building there are a number of interesting artifacts displayed. At the Amphitheatre opposite the car park i found the iokoa timber with steel frame reconstruction covering approximately half of the site a bit ugly though it could potentially leave the site with some use in current times and I find that aspect somewhat in recompense though it does not appear that use of the site is made for either theatre or music now. As is often the case there appears a great deal of stone robbed to buildings in the vicinity and beyond (presumably some generations ago) from both the Amphitheatre and other Roman buildings in Grand. The workmanship evident in the remaina of the Amphitheatre is exceptional (superb stonemasonry) . There are interesting artifacts also on display in the administrative building for the Amphitheatre. Although the atmosphere of the Amphitheatre is tainted with the protective structure/timber reconstruction and wooden figures if you are keen on the Roman era I am sure you will find the sites worth a visit.

Well restored amphitheatre which give you a good idea of what the site would have looked like

Impressive mosaic, definitely worth a visit when in town for the amphitheater. Rocket for the amphitheater also calls for the mosaic.
