Untouched since the end of ww1. You can clearly see the line of sight for German machine guns during the battle of the Somme. Chilling.

Visiting here gave us a better understanding of the role of the Newfoundland regiment in WWI and the complexity of the war. As a Canadian it was even that much more important to go, learn and take a few very small steps in their shoes. A much visit site, without a doubt. The rangers will give you a map for a self-guided tour at the entrance, or offer free-guided tours every 30 minutes or so. Lots of info in the visitor centre to help better understand the site as well.

Well preserved trench system and no man's land to give you a good idea how it was like back then.

Large erea dedicated to the preservation of the trench war between the allied nations and the Germans. You get to see the old trenches and experience the feeling of looking across no man's land and seeing the enemy waiting for you with machine guns.

The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the site is an amazing place to learn more about WW1. Heart-wrenching.

Visited so many times now and never fails to impress. Really gives an insight into what the boys had to face and the sacrifice. The Canadians do a magnificent job of looking after it and are excellent hosts.make sure you climb the hill to get a full view of the battlefield.
