An iconic Col in the Pyrenees, a long way up lots of gears and some preparation need for this one. Very cold at the top and a very long decent which requires winter gear and plenty of insulation to keep warm.

What a fabulous place! A regular trial for cyclists and a fun ski resort in winter. You need to be fit for either but if you're not then just drive over it for the views but not for the nervous driver. Don't forget to stop for lunch at one of the restaurants. I recommend the Eidelweiss.

A good mountain to do when you're a beginner cyclist! Not very high and tough enough. But apparently the other side is much harder, so check which one you'd like to do, based on your ability or level of challenge wished

Awesome view point of the Pyrénées mountain range. Many cyclists testing their metal against the course, drive carefully and enjoy the scenic panoramic views. Weather can change quite quickly, pack a jacket. Ideal for a picnic so be sure to pack that too.

One of the most epic and iconic climbs in the world. I've done it from Luz-Saint-Sauveur, over 19 km of never-ending ascent. Gradient is never too hard (average is 7.4%) but it reaches up to 10-11% on some spots (like on the last kilometer). The road is in nearly pristine conditions (reached the 81 km/h on e way down) and landscapes are breathtaking

Col du Tourmalet (elevation 2,115 m) is the highest paved mountain pass in the French Pyrenees. Paved roads to the mountain lakes Lac de Cap-de-Long (2,161 m) and Lac d'Aumar (2,192 m) in the same French Pyrénées are higher but no mountain passes. The road to the mountain pass Col de Laquets (2,637 m) is not paved. The highest paved mountain pass in the Pyrenees is the Port d'Envalira (2,407 m) in Andorra.

The ultimate climb of the tour de France. Always fun to ride. Always beautiful. Bear in mind that between November and May the pass may be closed due to snow. There is a gift shop and a cafe at the top but in my 7 or 8 ascents I have only seen them open once so don't rely on them.

Tough climb by bicycle, but nice views on the way. Steepest at the end.
