A Masterpiece of the late Gothic and combining elements of Neoclassical style the cathedral stood centuries on the top of the rocky hill of Old city of Blois. Construction dated back in 12th century dedicated to the St Solenne whose remains are kept in the crypt. Louis XIV later in 1704 donated organ and since then the cathedral bears the name of St Louis. Must visit.

Nice cathedral open without paying. Nice inciense odour, nice music. Art is not awesome, not the vitraux. From outside is breathtakingly beautiful
While not the most impressive chateau seen fro the outside, as it stands in the middle of the town, the Royal Court of Blois is still a stunning presence when seen from the back. It is only when one gets inside the court that the scale of the building becomes visible. The famous double-helix staircase is a feat of ingenuous engineering and it take a bit of testing, of clumbing it up and down, to comprehend the way it juggles with our perceptions of space. The chambers and halls are somptuous, the text guidance is fairly good. The most captivating bits of French history related to this royal residence are thoroughly illustrated
Breathtaking beauty and mystery.
The only way i can describe this place is amazing and absolutely breathtaking it looks already massive on the outside and then tou go in and its a great scale to show how small a person actually is.
The glass work is amazing and it sets the tone for the atmosphere inside. There's loads of stairs to get there but it's worth it. Also inside you have small catacombs very scary :) don't leave without visiting it!
Impressive cathedral. Definitely take the Lesley that explains the symbolism of the windows. Really informative and brings what are fairly dull windows into a whole new light & meaning. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Blois.
One of the least attractive and interesting cathedrals in France. Dull grey stone does not help and little lift from the contents. Worth the climb up from the town for the views and the more visually attractive hotel de ville.
