Quite busy on the 14th of July. Lots of festivities going on. Great to visit.
Beautiful marina with hundreds of small boats. Well worth a visit.
Good marina and nice town for a sailing stopover
New built marina, with easy access to walkers, and huge parkings for goods transport trucks/lorries.
We had a great time. Four or five hours from Dover with the right wind and a carefully timed tide. Port Control are welcoming. Actually everyone was welcoming. Facilities were good and we loved the lady with her mobile bakery in the mornings (summer only). Great location for the town centre and the beach is to die for. Take a rucksack so you can grab a load of local cheese, wine, beer etc. The tidal range is huge! Makes for great fun climbing up the ramp when the tide is out - see photo!
Convenient marina to get into, 24hrs access. The pontoon fingers were not long enough for 50ft boat, yet it is possible to moore up to them. Marina facilities are good but the showers were somewhere in between luke warm and cold without possibility to change the temperature. The shower/toilet facilities did not have particularly pleasant smell. Once out of marina it is worth the walk into the old town with historical buildings and pretty streets. Marina staff were friendly and helpful.
Always lovely to walk along the beach what ever the weather the harbour is under lots of new reconstructions it will look great when its finished
