It's a long way down and a long way back up, but totally worth it! The river and the landscape are gorgeous. You have to check the weather before going because it might be dangerous.

Great family day adventure. Parking is busy but not hard, just anywhere on road side, be prepared to park further up the road from the track the later you arrive. 25min walk down track to river. Spend day on smooth rock on south side or sandy beach on north side of river. For the adventurous explore down the canyon. Not hard, current not strong in summer but wear shoes to scramble over rocks. Can go right to the end of the gorge and back in an hour.

Water is beautiful and clear and we'll come back and explore/swim in the summer. Nice hike not far from the village of Gillette.

A wonderful walk down to the river. A little bit harder to come back with kids. But a really pleasant place to go

Cool place, long walk from parking ca 1600 meters and 200 meters ascent but it worth it.
