Most impressive facade with three beautifully sculpted doors. The interior is more austere than the two other notable churches in the old town, but elegant and luminous.

What an incredible space! Huge. Mind the 4 steps down, inside the door!

Very nice and special cathedral with beautyfull Windows from 12th century

Most impressed that altars from other churches which would have been destroyed have found a home here. The setting is magnificent. The walk down a winding road and the site of the Cathedrale in the distance took my breath away.

Very interesting Gothic cathedral and the heart of Poitiers. Many beautiful sculptures.

A really beautiful building for all architecture nerds and lovers to see minus the car park on it's side...

The Cathedral is undergoing some extensive renovation and preservation work at the moment but it makes a huge impression all the same. High ceilings 24m in the collateral aisles and 28m in the nave, gorgeous light pouring in through all the stained glass. The series of panels depicting Christ on the cross is a focus, as is the reredo below it in the Sept and the plaster figures of Mary and Child. Due to all the hoardings etc up around the place the management have put up high quality infomation panels (French) about the architecture, decorative elements, Eleanor of Aquitaine etc. It's part construction site atm but that doesn't detract from the interest of this site or the building itself.
