Unforgettable visit to the Loire Valley, which has many castles and a lot of history in this region. Travel of approximately 3 hours by bus (ParisCityVision), to reach the Castle of Chenonceau which is also known as the Castle of the seven ladies. Its history is associated with seven women of strong personality, two of which are queens from France. Beautiful gardens and castle on the banks of the river Le Cher. For lovers of history and castles, a must visit the Loire region.

This has to be one of the best visits of the holiday! Built on the river Cher and incorporating a bridge as a key part of the accommodation this is a stunning place to visit. Whether you y looking I this from an engineering, architectural or aesthetic perspective this is a Fabulous place. Also steeped in interesting and intriguing history, with beautiful gardens and surrounding woodland. We've revisited and have enjoyed this gem. Not to be missed if visiting the area.

Château de Chenonceau is a must to visit when you are in Loire Valley. The castle has been built on the river with an interesting architecture. The history of the castle is also amazing. Be sure to visit the castle as well as the gardens. You can also plan a visit on the river getting boats in the village near by to see the castle from other perspectives

Beautiful chateau that actually learned me quite a lot about French history as well. And about the quirky family tree of most royals. It’s Unesco world heritage, in pristine state and well worth a visit when you’re in the area. We spent about 2 hours and visited the full castle, but we did not manage to fully walk both parks. They were beautiful in August. I can imagine they’re even nicer in spring. Bonus: you can exit the bridge of the castle in the back and visit the parks there and stroll past the river banks. They give you a stamp and you’ll be able to enter back in from that side. Only when you already have a ticket. Almost forgot to mention: you can roam around a special garden with a ‘vegetable and fruit museum’ and a special farmers area where you can see old carriages as well. Recommended.

Pearl of the trip to Laura Valley. Beautiful and interesting place. To see everything take at least half a day.

On its own a nice castle with more of an palace function than castle. The crowdedness however ruined part of the experience for me. Even on a week day during school hours it took a lot of effort of being alone in a tiny room.
