. Tiny pool but a big welcome. This hotel has rooms round a small courtyard, and a restaurant with tables overlooking the tiny pool. It was all toy-town sized, and could have seemed cramped but somehow it worked. The rooms were normal-sized and well equipped and there was good parking. Both the evening meal and breakfast were well served and good value. The very friendly welcome and willingness to get things just right for us were a big plus in this hotel where we shall visit again. .

When a dog is chained up all day it becomes quite unfriendly. It seems the owner of this place has been chained up to his hotel for far too long. Charm, wit, humour and even common courtesy is missing here. I asked politely ‘parlez vous Anglais si vous plait’. ‘Mais non’ he barked. Like a Gallic coq he guards his hens. The hens of course are not his customers but the Euros in his till from where he does not move all evening. I accidentally removed my credit card from the machine before I should. The grunts, the rolling of the eyes and the general displeasure of him having to spend 20 seconds re-entering the details was something to behold. This is the only hotel in the world that does not open until 18.00. I arrived at 16.30 expecting a swim in the pool. No chance. Ferme. Don’t believe the pictures of the pool. It’s tiny. Dive in and you splash all the gusts in the dining room - which of course is empty all evening! Please, please can a big chain open a hotel in Parthenay and put this charmless, clueless man out of business. Ps. See previous replies as an example of his charm. Can’t wait to see what he says about this review.. 17th May ..........and here it is folks. The charming dog of Les Jardins has barked once more. I never went in the bar! Once. Except to eat your miserable breakfast. I did not leave the room in the state you imply. I signed no terms and conditions stating I cannot eat in the room. Try offering a decent restaurant and people will not be forced to picnic in the rooms.
The male owner seemed clueless about how to handle someone who had prepaid for the hotel via Orbitz and he ended up charging us for the room. He showed no real interest in us, preferring instead to play with his model boats which occupied there supposed workout room. After two months, Orbitz has refused to refund the money as they want the hotel to refund the charge directly although the hotel owner will not respond to them (mainly because he does not speak English so they tell me). The pool is no better than a blow-up hard pool and our kids refused to get in. Avoid the headache.
The owner tried all his ways to ripped you off. Avoid this hotel!
Un seul mot NUL ! Nous avons demandé un devis au patron pour un dîner suivi d'une chambre pour une vingtaine de personnes et un mois et demi après toujours rien malgré de multiples relances par mail et par téléphone. Il disait qu'il allait le faire et nous rappeler mais il n'a jamais répondu à notre demande. Vraiment pas digne d'un commerçant, peut-être n'a t il pas besoin d'argent !
Super soirée saint valentin un vrai régal. Nous avons mangé divinement. Et patron à notre écoute. Je recommande très vivement cet établissement et suis très étonnée de certains commentaires. Ne pas se fier aux mauvaises langues. Établissement sensationnel
Restaurant où je suis allée il n'y a pas longtemps, que je recommande sans modération ! La cuisine est très bonne, le cuisinier, qui est le patron je suppose vient voir ses clients pour leur demander comment se passe le repas, chose que l'on ne voit pas partout ! Et le rapport qualité prix est très bien, il y a la quantité largement suffisante ! Je recommande !
Contrairement à de nombreux commentaires, patron très sympa, certes avec un franc parlé mais très sympa. Chambre très agréable, lieu aussi, très bonne cuisine. Seul petit bémol le petit déjeuner, manquerait un peu de choix. J'y retournerai avec plaisir après une semaine passée là.
