I postponed the visit to this place till last minute, and I regret doing so. The fortress is amazing, full of old stuff, amazing stories, good views... And it’s only 3 per person. Do go and enjoy this place, it’s really cool. P.S. it’s also nice to cool down there a bit during noon when it gets too hot in st trop. Oh and say hi to the kitty!

This is one of the few attractions to see in Saint Tropez. While the exterior is not so great with nothing much to see (maybe just a nice view over the city), on the inside of the actual museum there are quite a few interesting things to see (old maps, tools, equipment, weaponry, clothes, etc). And it's quite cheap to visit, only 3 euro (at least during off season)
We almost didn't make the climb. To be honest, we were in search of a restroom. The museum was all we could find at the time. SO GLAD WE DID THIS. The museum is excellent. It offers a complete history of the area and how the structure came to be. It also houses many interesting maritime artifacts and sailing ship-building exhibits. The structure is beautifully preserved and has complete access for visitors. The views from the Citadel are extraordinary. Across the bay, you can see the distant Alps. And the town of Saint-Tropez lays out below you. There's an unencumbered 360º view of the area that's just breathtaking. And . . . there are restrooms
Great museography! Went there on a sunny day just for the viewpoint but actually you can spend hours navigating in the many rooms covering lots of different topics... I was super amazed by the quality of the set up and the contents! Highly recommend!
Good place to visit get the history of St Tropez before it became a playboy town in 60s. Very interesting museum we'll docentrd and only 3 per adult. Amazing views of the bay too.
Very nice place to visit, conveniently located and wonderful view to the town below. Try to get there early in the morning, to get the free parking, which is filling up really quick. From there, you can walk up to the museum, and also walk to the old town to shop and eat. You can spend the whole day there, since everything is walking distance. I did not know the museum has peacocks.
Great building on the coast of Saint tropez city with magnificent view looking to the sea and finishing boats
Wonderful place to enjoy the view of the Golf and Citadel. Small but interesting museum.
