Jaude Square (French: Place de Jaude) is a major city square and meeting place in the centre of Clermont-Ferrand, France.[1] It is bordered by Rue Blatin on the North and Avenue Julien on the south. The square is home to many attractions, such as the Opera Theatre, the Jaude Shopping Mall and Saint-Pierre-des-Minimes Church. Jaude Square was founded in the Roman times but was abandoned in the Middle Ages. Overlooking the square is a massive statue of the ancient Gallic leader Vercingetorix. Erected in 1903, it was created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, who also made the Statue of Liberty.[3] The modern square was inaugurated on 17 June 2006, with over 30,000 people coming to attend the opening ceremony.[

It's the centre of Clermont-Ferrand. It feels like a great place to hang out, maybe grab something to eat with a friend. There's a marker every Sunday. Most manifestations happen here.

Place de Jaude is the city center or downtown of Clermont Ferrand as people also call it. There are all the shops or outlets for big brands including major restaurants. There are two big malls with cinemas inside. Overall a very good place and nice during the weekends with all the families with kids enjoying the city center. During COVID it's been a bit odd but there is still life around the city center.

Iconic square of the city. The statue is remarkable and there to remind us of our past. The new team passes by, the galleries Lafayette remind us that Clermont is a big city and the architecture all around is great. Get an ice cream! (Bonus: free WiFi on the whole square!!!)

Place to have some good food, shopping, take a stroll and have some picturesque images. It also had a very old church.

Most happening place of Clermont-Ferrand. Christmas evenings are the best time. Don't miss the musical festival on the longest day of the year.
