When you go to the store you should get acquainted with the stuff you need and the prices yourself, if you dont the sales persons will push on you the most expensive product. It is also quite difficult to get assistance if you need one and do not even start with english - no one speaks one. Otherwise quite all right store, with brikoman out of the picture after they changed their style, it is the only one.

A convenient diy supermarket with lots of choices and competitive pricing. There is also on the side à court with all materials needed to build a house from scratch

It's the same as the other Castoramas. If you don't know, it's a sort of DIY store with a largish outdoor garden area. Nice plants. Good priced home furniture etc. It's a bit like Homebase but nicer and more stylish.

We had a very unpleasant experience with the \Accueil\ staff of this branch. We brought back some tile grout sacks (overpriced, but more later) and the lady directed us to the \Materiaux\ dept. at the other end of the compound. She did not ask for the bill or asked any other questions. The result was that we had to drag a heavy load to the Materiaux and back to the Accueil. An apology would have been expected. But we were wrong. The lady just asked for the bill and proceeded as if nothing had happened. She was surly, unpleasant and unwilling to help. Afterwards, she did not ask us whether we wanted a credit note, cash or whether we wanted our credit card to be credited and gave us the option that meant less work for her!. In other words, she was as unhelpful to customers as possible. I speak French quite fluently (with a little accent, mind you), and she kept exchanging conspiring glances with her colleagues and pretending she did not understand. In other words, she was using her Castorama position to make fun of Castorama customers and to show her despise for foreigners!! Quite amazing when you think about it. It makes you want to vomit! We were not satisfied either with the salesman at the tiles dept. We bought 150 m² Travertin for our terrace and also the corresponding mortar and tile grout. He did not bother to ask us which one we wanted (apart from the colour of the grout) and sold us 20 sacks of the most expensive kind on offer. We paid 30 for a sack of grout, when the same quality is sold by Castorama for 12. If you are customers of Bricoman, then you will notice the difference. I suppose it is a question of store management training their staff to try and be genuinely helpful to customers and carrying out regular spot checks to ensure compliance. In this sense: Bad marks for the managers of this Castorama Frejus branch.
