The association "Coordination internationale pour une culture de non-violence et de paix", in English, "International Network for a Culture of Non-Violence and Peace" was founded in 2003. The aims of the International Network for a Culture of Nonviolence and Peace: -Promote a culture on non-violence and peace, in particular education without violence and education for non-violence and peace for the children in the world; -Co-ordinate its members' actions by the gathering of ressources and information, the sharing of experiences and dialogue, particularly about education for peace and non-violence; -Represent its member coalitions at the international level and act as a supporting and advisory body for the creation of new national coalitions in countries where they do not yet exist; -Co-ordinate international campaigns or actions aimed at promoting a culture of non-violence and peace. The International Network for a Culture of Non-Violence and Peace engages in advocacy and lobby within UNESCO by presenting a proposal for an international declaration on children's right to violence-free education and to peace and non-violence education. The association invites States to take necessary measures in order to protect children against all kinds of school violence and to ensure the use of violent-free learning methods. With this objective, the association actively participates in activities and meetings organised by UNESCO, and collaborates with its member associations and organisations to promote its Declaration.
