Great little airport .has all you need.its a walk up or down stairs affair at front or rear.No need to go mega early. Bus to I'll de re ,right outside 5 euro one way to anywhere on the island.once on the island its 1 euro to any where per person each trip or 11 euros for a week ticket pp.

Well... Slow slow slow and very slow. People are slow and inefficient. I had a stone on the palm of my hand and it's now just sand.
Great little airport. Swift in and out. If you are getting a hire car, however, and dropping it back on a Sunday beware you may have an extra charge ( in my case 54) if the hire car desk is unmanned.
How it is possible that a custom guy working in an international airport makes a traveller feel inconfortable because he doesn't speak French?? To resume, the custom guy asked in French a useless question such as why were you in la Rochelle? The traveller respond sorry I don't speak French, the French custom guy replied je ne parle pas anglais and repeat the question in French with arrogance 3 times... Braging in front of his colleagues... Seriously?? I'm french and so ashamed of my country tonight. This guy must never had leave his country to think people can speak the language of each the countries they are travelling to... He shouldn't be allowed to work in an international airport, he clearly lack the first skill needed. I'm not surprised of the French reputation aboard if airport staff act like this...
Small, efficient airport. Good value food and parking. Lost a bit of its charm as it's become a real airport but still my favourite. Just watch out that Europcar don't rip you off for fuel when you return your car.
