Delightful largish restaurant/tavern in a beautiful old city location. It backs on to the market. Service is good and the menu suitably limited to fresh food that can be quickly prepared and served.a good place to watch the passing parade.

I've ordered mossels as the main dish and they were the smallest mossels I have even seen. The taste was not special either. The positive thing was that after the baby mossels I had enough space for a dessert which was amazing.

Fantastic food, good price and service, and really helpful friendly staff. The seafood platter is amazing!

Better no! We ordered three different dishes. All three orders were not right. The steak was cut wrong. With a lot of " not eatable " parts. The sauce served with it was just bad - sour. Plain disaster with a lobster. Ugly, not fresh, soft as cream-brule. The kitchen should stick to pork(that was our third order) what they could do. Other dishes are just an example of wasting good products. First time we saw a restaurant on the market with VERY bad food. The wine and oysters were good. Waiters very friendly.

La Taverne des Halles has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly service and very good food! It starts serving dinner at 6pm. This is good news for a hungry traveler.

Just got back from dining out at this restaurant. Started well with a very friendly reception from the staff and owner. Then it went wrong. The fish soup was lukewarm as we're the main plates, which were accompanied with lukewarm, even cold, unappetising chips. Suppose you could could just accept it, but on paying the bill, be told the 1/2 pitcher of house wine, was 16 euros, we felt then that we had been treated like idiots .Will not return
