Laid out in a very user-friendly format, the museum tells us a lot about our distant ancestors. That said, I think the subject matter needs to be of personal interest to you, otherwise parts of the displays are repetitive in nature and content. Like, how many flint artefacts does one need to see? To illustrate my point about whether to visit or not, I myself thought I could take it or leave it. On the other hand, my wife who has a deep interest in archeology, loved it. On the top level, there is access to an amazing older structure built into the rock of the cliff face; really worth a look.

Great experience - plenty of interesting items on the display. One thing which grabbed particularly my attention was a special are for kids where they can interact and learn. Well done!
This little museum has a lot of interesting artifacts and historical information but was difficult to understand with our limited knowledge of French. It could really benefit from an audio tour where you could point the device at a place to get more in depth information in your language. I would be happy to pay for such a service
Very detailed and comprehensive, videos particularly useful for non French speaking visitors. Look out for the collection of explanation cards in English that help to explain exhibits and contents. Great view from the terrace at cliff level.
Some interesting exhibits, but no English translations of the info. There are information sheets in each section, but they don't cover each thing, just an overview.
I liked this museum. It was a decent size and had lots of artifacts. My 4 year old wasn't all that interested but my 8 and 10 liked the videos and larger items like ancient elk and the human remains. There is a small place for little ones to explore. We were here in mid March and there was very little crowd.
If your interested in this then your in the right area. Why did the complainers even come. Early April and had it almost to ourselves, same with the town.
Go hear then go and see the carvings at Abri de Cap Blanc
