One of my favorite places to have some authentic French and Swiss cuisine in Lyon. Best things to try here are raclette and cheese fondue. The place is not very expensive either. Situated right behind the vieux Lyon metro station, it's easily accessible. And the best part is that they serve these dishes all year long and not just in winters.

Nice service and delicious raclette!

Aware, do not waste your time. Rude and even if they are empty they asked for a reservation. The place doesn't even have a name outside.

It was an excellent dinner at le Refuge. The food was cooked to perfection, and the service was efficient and friendly. Definitely, a restaurant to visit in Lyon!

Awful. Firstly, I’d like to say that the taste of the food(cheese and bread) was alright... it’s downhill from there: the façade has no sign whatsoever to tell you that this is the restaurant you’re looking for, which leads me to believe that they’re no longer allowed to serve and here’s why: they had an errand boy coming and going with groceries from a corner shop (meaning they don’t have a supplier anymore), the kitchen was in a DESPICABLE state and they don’t take credit cards, even though they had a card machine...I mean, we’re in 2018, in France: I have never seen a restaurant that doesn’t take the card. I can only assume they’re accepting cash only to avoid declaring a revenue. The cleaninness of this place leaves a lot to desire; glasses were greasy, the floor was sticky and the walls were very dirty. We ordered a fondue for 4, and the waiter brought us a raclette... he seemed nice at first but after we told him about it, he started having an attitude, which is completely unacceptable in the service industry, ESPECIALLY if the place that you’re working for is already lacking in so many other points. Also, they sell you drinks under a certain name, but the actual drink that you get is NOT the one listed on the menu (e.g. Coke and Sprite were ordered, but were given an alternative, lower quality soda.) We were 4, and we absolutely hated this experience. It didn’t help that by the end of it, it was quite overpriced and that we had to make a run for an ATM to be able to pay for our food. The experience/price/food/service is just not up to standard and is simply not worth a try.

Excellent service and hospitality, affordable and delicious food, thank you! The raclette is fun to eat and meals generally are hearty and tasty. Thanks!
