I'm a black girl from the USA. I know soul food. This is not it. Not even close. They used wrong batter for waffles. Who messes up waffles? Not even my young niece and Belgium is just next door to learn from. They used canned beans. Who messes up red beans? Oh, those who don't make it from scratch. We tried the max n cheese. Who messes up pasta with cheese? Aren't we living in France? They got half right...the cheese. I'm not expecting what we have in the States. I'm simply expecting well cooked food with fresh ingredients. Basta.

I went there twice in a month to get a table since they don't take reservations. We tried the brunch menu on Sunday, presentation was quite impressive and food was good but none of the items were really outstanding. I had better fried chicken, better smashed potatoes, better coleslaw salad, etc. The place is very famous so I really expected more, but it is still worth if you want to have a nice generous meal.
Food presentation was impressive. You get a lot of food. I tried the chicken tacos. Small establishment. Photos everywhere of black entertainers. A cool vibe️️
Simple menu. Great Food, great service only detail is you cant book when you arrive you dont know how long you'll have to wait. we arrived and were told 30min wait we went for drinks came back and were ready for us. amazing but we overheard a group arriving they'll have 1h30 of wait :o so ... my recommendation is: get there early
Trash. This is Not a Soul Food Restaurant. The Place was too Small. Menu Items Unavailable. Choice’s of Entrees were Chicken,Chicken & Chicken!! Suggestions: Find a Better Chef & Carry Authentic Soul Food Entrees on the Menu. Yet the Host & Waiters were Very Nice People.
Pretty much what you'd expect from the joint's presentation. Good, earthy food, in generous servings. Nice staff. Fair prices. Also worth noting is the music : not only is it good, but it's also not so loud that it gets in the way of normal table chat. Very limited outside seating, no coffee, and no advance bookings would be the only cons. Nice cocktail bar just next door can help with the wait if you aren't the early bird type.
Mama Jackson’s is the TRUTH! This was a spectacular experience. Soul food with a Jamaican twist. Plantains, red coleslaw, and THE best Jamaican rice ever. The fried chicken and was great. You could taste the lemon in the batter. Desert was FrenchToast with Carmel sauce and fresh fruit.
Good food, drinks and service!!! The Rum drinks are strong too They even have vegan dishes
