If I could give this 6/5 I would! Talk about walking through history. This place is incredibly maintained and there is so much to see, process, and reflect upon. It took my boyfriend and I the better part of an afternoon to walk through it all. You’ll see trenches, bullets, craters from shells, sleeping holes, and sites of excavated bodies. Oh, and even poppies like the poem In Flanders Fields mentions.

Incredibly well-preserved, a must-see for those interested in WWI!

Amazing WWI site. Original trench lines. You can wonder around at will. Not a huge site but enough to see. Free parking, free entry. Well worth the detour.

absolutely tremendous! very well done outdoor exhibition! they put a lot of effort in this one. you're free to move around as you like! no entry fee! absolutely terrific scenery. took a million pictures. if you're lucky as i am the nearby military base or hunters shooting (can't tell what but sounds like rather big explosions!) will add up to the place well!! if you bring your children make shure to keep them well within reaching distance. there's barbwire all over the place. love.robin

If you've seen the movie 1917 this site becomes even more interesting and horrible. This monument without entrance fee etc will make you realize the fear, horror and destruction of a trench war. You'll also learn how the frontline was supplied. I think this is a must see, because you can enter the excavated trenches and sense the disorder, filth, lack of protection etc.

Trenches as they were in WW1 - no touristy fluff, very evocative. Suggest taking the tarmac road up from the village - not a field track!

Amazing site where local volunteers have excavated and restored a maze of front line trenches. It brings the front to life like no other site we have visited. A must see if you have any interest in WW1.
