Research Center for Heterotopias, Arts, Ethics of Art and Regeneration Objectives Artistic creation We demand, through the exchange of the professional skills and knowledge, question, resist, suggest, and respond to the ethical challenges, one of which is in fact the tendency of over-consumption in the society. Regeneration We believe that the materials used in artistic creation should be in harmony with nature, and this attitude to be applied in the field of critical analysis. This can induce more sensible practice and education of everyone concerned, not only artists and critics, but also producers, to have a realistic consciousness towards preserving our planet by the application of recycle, having a sense that we have already over-exploited the natural materials of the earth. Digital Arts Though the digital arts have relatively short history compared to other medium of arts, it has huge possibilities as well as an universal appeal. How could we achieve a digital creation that can transcend the usual methodology and common opinions/perception of public audiences ? We are happy to provide the space of CRANE lab as a place for any digital artists, who would like to create their own works as well as do their further research. New paradigm We hope that the paradigm of artistic creation to be one of the opportunities, where we can promote the respect towards our planet, thus prompting to preserve it. We are committed to this ideal to be the focal point of our education activities. International relations CRANE lab is a cosmopolitan environment. Our artistic events, including symposiums, are often organised in collaboration with other institutions that are our international partners, and this is inspiring for many visual artists, who reside here to create their own works.
