Antaios is a newly incorporated start-up that develops a disruptive memory technology based upon the recently discovered Spin-Orbit Torque (SOT) phenomenon. Although innovative in its underlying principles, SOT memories rely on similar core technologies (materials, process) as the existing STT MRAM currently being deployed at major IDM/foundries. Antaios technology combines very high speed and non-volatility, e.g. the capability to preserve data when power is turned off. Antaios will license its technology to semiconductor chip manufacturers, helping them solve the critical issue of exploding power requests for advanced computing, from PC and servers to smartphone, tablets and other mobile devices.
