Great kite boards in the Hawaiian tradition. Fun all around board from waves to flat water. Goes upwind gr8 with small fins and super easy to slip out and play like a traditional alaia. You can tell from the first ride these are well built with attention to detail. And yes the surf just as well as kite, Aloha.

This boards are all hand crafted and a absolute joy to ride, the surf feel from the board is amazing. The flexibility in the board is great so no tired knees love it, way to go Joe.

KILAIA's are juet awesome boards! I had the chance to test a few and was surprised to find out that's it's not just a plank of wood! They were different in feel and performance, to suit different riding skills/style and conditions. But regardless of the above, my top choice still is the pure wood one - no glass fiber and epoxy, just linen seed oil. Ah, and the cork deck pad is a must!

EPIC!!! Absolutely love these boards,... The technical proficiency and look of the Kilaia matches the passion Chris puts into his boards and service. I recently had the pleasure of working with Chris photographing a professional kite surfer using a variety of the Kilaia boards, which we did in 4-5ft solid surf. The Kilaia was certainly put through its paces and looked graceful yet responsive in critical parts of the wave, which shows they are more than suitable for all levels of user, and more than look the part too!

I got to meet Chris and a selection of his Kilaia boards last Friday on the beach at Sandbanks, Dorset UK. I’d seen a Kilaia in action locally over recent months as one of my kiting buddies owns one but I’d never actually ridden, nor really had the inclination to try one. That was until this day. What can I say but ‘Wow!’ I’m concentrating on learning to foil so that takes up most of my energy but the very second I stood on this strapless giant I felt instantly comfortable, safe and at home ploughing effortlessly through breaking waves and over chop. I truly enjoyed the experience and would love to own my own Kilaia one day. It’s the biggest board I’ve ever ridden under a kite. Turning takes time to get used to but I found a wider stance helped. Chris is a really nice guy. If you get the opportunity to demo one of his boards make sure you take the opportunity to do so, you won’t regret it.
