This was an unexpected and frankly one of the most pleasantly shocking finds during our trip around Provence. It is just huge, historically rich and one of the roman gems Provence has to offer. Must visit.
What a place ! History and Art have both their place in this amazing antic theater
Incredibly preserved historical site! This is a must visit for every lover of history and archeology. The shop beside the theater also contains many resources about the place. 2,000 years after its construction, this is still a fantastic location for plays! I recited a scene from Shakespeare just for fun, and the natural acoustics carried my voice to the “top bleachers” where a friend said he heard me perfectly. Simply amazing!
I didn't see any traditional Roman's but this old stone carving has been recently renovated to make look a bit more modern. Quite an improvement though still attracts many low quality tourists.
Visited on a lovely quiet day in February. Very beautiful site. Loved the virtual reality experience which let you see what the theatre looked like when it was first built.
Even in 38 degrees heat superb! Go visit!
Impressive... The theatre is huge and worth the visit. They offer you a free guided tour in english, which is interesting to understand its history and some curiosities. The guide has a great level of english! Although it's an external area, the use of mask is mandatory (which we appreciated).
