Very disappointed at Nespresso new all monetized business model. I used to go to the old location, rue Bonaparte, maybe twice a year. Back then you could get a complimentary coffee sample and enjoy the 2 story store, with comfortable lounge upstairs. Now that I happen to be in town and visiting, I decided to stop by this location. Well, no more coffee to try, even the smallest of the cups, unless you make a purchase first. I’m sorry but I’m traveling, and have no reason to add a box of pods in my suitcase when I have no machine during my trip and plenty of pods left at home. The store looks more like a cellphone store than a coffee store. The space dedicated to the bar and on site coffee enjoying has been considerably revisited for worse.
Coffees are released online before they are released IRL. What you see on their website is not necessarily what you can buy in the shop. Genius!

The reason for the 4 Stars was the first person told us we had to buy something to sample. My husband thinks she doesn't understand English well enough, so I must have misunderstood her. But, if she doesn't understand English, she would not have told me twice - We had to buy something to sample. Then, when we started to leave, another girl was nice and told us they were sampling the big cup coffee like we do in US and there was no requirement to buy something. She showed us how to use the machine and we had chance to try some we have never tried before. She also brought us fruits to go with our drinks to enhance the experience. Merci!!
