Make no mistake: this is more, much more, than a mere teahouse. It’s a place to visit to step away from the busy environment outside and simply slow down. Opened in 2009 by the famous George Cannon tea brand, it was inspired by traditional Chinese teahouses. At the front is a shop which sells a large range of tea products, including a fine selection of Japanese teas. A very nice tearoom located at the back doubles as a lunch café where you can sip delicious cups of tea and enjoy a selection of tea-flavored cakes and desserts. The staff is competent and friendly, adding to the mellow atmosphere. The mood of the tea room is further enhanced by the elegant décor, a mix of Asian and contemporary styles in delicate hues of white, beige and brown, with just a few hints of green for a touch of energy, and a gentle nod to tea and nature. Essence du Thé regularly invites artists to exhibit their work, giving the tearoom a lively and ever-changing atmosphere. During lunchtime, various Asian-inspired meals are offered. The menu is regularly renewed. The traditional Japanese tearoom is regularly opened for tea ceremonies, affording an interesting glimpse of the fascinating art of tea. Meanwhile, in the basement there is a spa, where you can have a relaxing massage. There is a choice of several techniques, or you can simply enjoy a short break in one of the massage chairs.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment à l'Essence du Thé. L'accueil est chaleureux et on se régale. Une adresse incontournable pour les amateurs de thés.

Boutique de thés qui ne paie pas de mine au premier abord. La devanture est joliment présenté et les tarifs élevés semblent justifiés. Plus de 350 choix de thés divers et variés sont proposés en ce lieu et une dégustation gratuite vous est même proposée (assez rare pour être souligné). Profitez par la même occasion du salon de thé où vous pourrez également déguster des pâtisseries extraordinaires et aux saveurs incroyables. Un grand moment d'émotion. À notet que le personnel est extrêmement serviable et de très bons conseils. Plus de temps à perdre, le salon n'attend plus que vous. Bonne dégustation.

Grand choix de thé et de très bons conseils. J'y vais deouis plus de 10 ans... le salon de thé propose des pâtisseries divines d'un chef japonais à tomber ! Et vous pouvez aussi vous faire masser sur place. Terminez la séance par un thé c'est nécessaire. Et une chose très drôle dans ce lieu... les wc à la japonaise ;)
