Pretty random collection, not specific to just the history of Jewish people in Paris/France. Lots of historical artifacts and some textiles. Worth dropping by if you've got the museum pass, but you could see everything in about an hour without rushing. A lot of stuff had very tentative connections to Judaism. Eg stuff on Freud, and a lot of stuff about people who were linked to very unethical 19th/20th century pseudoscience like phrenology--including people infamously involved in eugenics and mental asylums, which was surprising...

This museum is one the best Jewish museums where I have ever been. It contains a huge and fascinating exhibition about the history of the Jews around the world. Contrary to many local Jewish history museums this museum doesn't exclusively depicts the history of the French or Parisian Jews, but tries to show us the history of all the Jews globally. In the Musee d'art et d'histoire du Judaisme you will also have a lot of interesting objects surrounding the history of the noneuropean Jews, like photographs from Indian Jews and artpieces from Jews from Algeria. So the bottomline is, if you are interested in Jewish history, then hit the place.

I loved this museum it was absolutely superb!! An awesome collection on the history of Judaism and Jewish life in France (and Europe generally as well as N Africa and Israel) from the medieval period to modern. I loved it so much, and had an amazing time. I would get the audio guide too, it was well worth it.

Definitely worth seeing even if you’re not Jewish.

A good spot to understand the Jewish presence in Paris

An employee opened a service door with such violence against us and did not even apologised or said a single word. And we realised his rush was only to go and have a smoke outside! The museum is nice and is worth a visit!

Dropped as we had the pass and it was included. This is really for people connected to Judaism or interested in their beliefs. There was a big section of photos of people that looked sad and tired.

This impressive building has failed in it's mission to provide the international visitors with access to knowledge and understanding of the displayed items. The explanatory plaques are set so low one has to bend to read. Once you are on your knees, the print is so small, as if not meant to be read at all, and only in French!! The initial presentation seems haphazard. This was enough to get myself out of there. Definitely needs corrections, and apparently overrated.
