Absolutely beautiful chateau. Bizarre \displays\. Perhaps you need to be educated within the French system to fully appreciate the messages and juxtapositions of the \exhibits\. Personally they did nothing for me. I ignored most of them and just tried to absorb the chateau itself. The exhibits detract from the beauty and grandeur of the building. Just weird and, mostly, incomprehensible.

A eclectic collection of exhibits contained within a chateau that is interesting enough in its own right. Well worth visiting and on a spring or summer day enjoy a meander around the well kept grounds.
Very interesting combination of old castle and unusual modern art. They actually work well together.
Very nice chateau which is some way from the better-known ones in the Loire Vallley. Lovely grounds. Worth a trek through beautiful countryside to get there.
Simply beautiful, well worth a visit
The Château d'Oiron is located in Oiron, in the Deux-Sèvres département of western France. It has its origins in the 15th century war with the English for control of France when a victorious Charles VII of France gave the domain and great forest of Oiron to Guillaume Gouffier who became governor of Touraine.
Do not miss out on this place. Every room has a quirky totally different installation. Incredible !
fascinating chateau and displays of art from recent decades. appears not to be heavily visited. the slightly run down atmosphere adds to the bizarre experience.
