You can't visit without an appointment. Although it does not say that on the gate or on the website, you cannot visit it without and you will not be let in. It's also very easy to miss because there is no clear signs pointing to it, so when you do find it and you' re not let in, it's a real disappointment. Especially when you tell them you've come quite a long way just to visit this particular castle. There are plenty of other castles in the area, I would recommend visiting those. They're much more welcoming.

Un bel endroit. Pour nous, la réservation était faite et la visite guidée s'est parfaitement déroulée agrémentée de nombreux détails et anecdotes par le châtelain lui-même.
