One side is Saumur Castle and the other is the river.. You can not be mistaken in which side you booked your room. Friendly staff and a good breakfast buffet, not included in the room price..

Rude, unhelpful lady at the front desk. The rooms are at hostel level rather than hotel level. Parking access demands a TINY car. Don't order breakfast!! Its awful. If possible, I would give staying here a miss and drive out of town to look for a more welcoming place.

Good location, nice view. Looks like rooms need a refurbishment, ours had a worn down carpet, very old and heavy wooden door.

Family roadtrip: two young boys, my wife, and I. Great pre-stay communication. Staff were friendly and quick to help throughout our stay. Located within walking distance to the squares with all the restaurants. Also in the shadow of Château de Saumur. Beautiful view! The hotel itself is just as charming. We stayed in the family room. Excellent comfort. Air conditioning. Separate toilet and bath/shower/double sinks. The breakfast was the best we had in France. And it was a buffet. Amenities include a heated swimming pool and hot tub. We parked at a public (free) parking nearby. If it wasn't for the children's dim interest for wine and fine dining we would have extended our stay for at least a week. We have to visit Saumur again! And stay at Hotel Anne d'Anjou of course

In the current very hot conditions, (34 C) this hotel cannot be recommended. Our room, which was particularly Spartan in amenities considering its 4 star rating, was stifling and had a aroma of body odor. Although we paid for two nights reservation, we abandoned the place for a Mercure property that had modern air conditioning.
