The ruins of the castle of the Counts of Vendôme overlook the old town on top of a hill. You enter the castle grounds through the 17th century Beauce Gate which opens onto a beautiful garden. The ruins of the former Saint Georges collegiate can be found here as well.

Nice walk up to the ruins. Great views of the city. I can't imagine how or why they would ever destroy a castle.
