We were at the poisson rouge after a recommendation of a person living in our holiday home. We (3 girls) had a white wine and as a starter we wanted to eat some fries. The waiter was very friendly and brought us fries. The fries were completely greasy and oily. They were awful. Then two of us had the tuna steak and i ate the mules. My mules were ok but the sauce was without any spices, only cooked in white wine. The tuna was cold and raw. The rice was wothout a sauce. In summary the food was not good at all, the waiter was nice and our wine was good. But we did not come for the waiter or the wine we wanted to eat there nice france food but unfortunately we did not. We all cant recommend this restaurant.

Our third visit to Vieux-boucau-les-bains, never fails to please. We have never eaten at le Poisson Rouge, but was recommended by another restaurant. We were delighted, the service was joyous, such delightful staff, we both had Oleron Marenne oysters to start which were served on a seaweed bed with shallot vinegar, they were plump and not over salty, we then shared the fish of the day Merlu (whiting) locally line caught which was perfectly cooked and utterly delicious in it's fresh simplicity.
