I met Michael Baynes a few years ago when I answered a Christie's ad in the Wall Street Journal about a chateau for sale in Bordeaux. Over the next 18 months, Michael showed me at least a dozen chateaux and vineyards and introduced m to several owners and wine experts. While I was searching for the right chateau, I found in Michael a trusted adviser who was extremely knowledgeable about both real estate and wine. Michael took the time to understand my desires and interests. He kept me informed about the properties I was most interested in until I finally made the decision to purchase a particular chateau. While that house and property were beautiful, I needed to create my own vineyard. In France, creating anything is complex, and Michael continued to help me as a friend and fellow wine lover.
