A sombre atmosphere yet beautiful in its impressive location. This is a breathtaking monument to, initially for all that died during the Crimean War, but also added on those who lost their lives in the the nineteenth century. At its base is a commemorative stamp with names of the Children of Meaux who died for the Fatherland in 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. There's a winged Angel of Victory the crowns the obelisk with a lion watching at the base. This war memorial isn't far from the ramparts that surrounds the bishopric palace and garden and the Cathedral of Meaux. Worth exploring.
