Very nice zoo! We went there on a mid cloudy but sunny day. Some enclosures were closed due to renewal and renovation. Not a big issue, since there are many species in the zoo. Greatly covered in trees, the zoo is a welcome stay with children on very hot days.
On walking into the Zoo we saw 2 caged Eagles. Two magnificent birds of prey in a cage barely big enough to spread their wings. Broke our hearts. The whole place has a “eerie” feel about it. The reptile house is heart breaking - huge snakes kept in tiny glass cages. The Zoo is huge so WHY are so many animals “caged” in tiny spaces. The White Tigers clearly in distress exhibiting behaviour of captivity - repeatedly walking round in circles. Caged birds. Caged cats in glass enclosures. All these animals need to be rehoused and the place closed down. All the animals has such a sad look in their eyes. All the cafes were closed and boarded up but this is negligible. Authorities need to go in there and rescue these poor defenceless beautiful animals
Lovely. My 2 year old enjoyed it. Took a pushchair as there is lots of walking. We had a packed lunch under the trees.
Good zoo, well kept and a lot of animals to see. However, visitor experience is terrible no cafes to speak of and a 30min queue for a tray of chips and a cold drink at the only (very small) kiosk.
Great zoo not recommended for wheelchairs of people with mobility issues as there are lots of steep inclines. For those that haven’t GO
Parks Zoo views show around not too bad poor
We had a wonderful time. All the animals looked happy and we'll looked after. The displays you need to see to understand the shear awe inspiring sight. Especially the parrots. The staff are friendly and helpful and the zoo is still run by the son of the man who first opened it. If I'm ever close enough I will go again. The zoo may seam a little dated but clearly the money is being spent on the animals as it should be. We even saw notices that showed the zoo takes part in a inter zoo breading program to help save species from extinction. I would recommend Zoo Dr Pont Scorff to everyone it's a must see. I saw a snow leopard for the first time, my son fell in love with the sand cats and my wife made friends with a giraffe. If I could give 10 stars I would.
