I had to visit the embassy of India for lost passport , any one would be worried in case passport is lost however I was anxious but not worried —- i called the embassy in night at 11 PM , to my surprise , I Recieved a call back immediately the purpose of my call , I explained the reason of lost passport and I was told don’t worry you will go home and we will help you . I was asked to visit with copy of FIR and copy of old passport . Visit was more positive then tele caller , officer handling the case was Ms Radhika Singh , she asked basic questions and asked me to do the paper work and enquired if i have money to pay and go home ,, what followed was heart touching — basic discussion on my job profile and Purpose of visit and how I lost the document ( even if it was her job to do background check , it was non threatening and very empathic ) ,.. I was asked if I can come the next day to collect as work time are over . I requested to issue he same day as I have already lost one meeting day in work place , she promise to do the support and within 2 Hours I was issued EC to travel . Happy that Ministry of external affairs have good professionals . Even when I am back to India , new passport has been issued post email from Paris embassy’s on genuineness of the case . Thanks India Government and Ms Radhika for professional attitude.
