The worst place you will want to be going to because they can just cancel your tour booking without telling you until you arrive!We booked our tour months ahead via email.When we arrive the lady said nope they is no booking.i showed her the email then she went into her office and say we didn't confirm. I then showed her the confirmation email and she said nope didn't receive that!They even replied to my confirmation and yet she lied directly to our face and appeared so unapologetic .Which made us so annoyed as we came all the way from Canada just to this one winery.It was her attitude that was so unforgiving.Just don't book any tours or even visit this winery.They are plenty to choose from. ————————- The owner sent her apology and also couriered a complimentary magnum bottle of wine to Canada for their mistake. Although it was a nice gesture, it did still ruin our trip.
I have been contacted by Annabelle from the Chateau since and she apologized for the unfortunate experience that we had. She offered a refund and inviterd us for another visit when we come again. They also are sending a book, I assume it's about the Chateau Corbin history. So for that reason I changed my rating as anyone can have a bad day but it matters how they deal with feedback. We visited on 8th February at 3pm and I have to say the tour was a disappointment. The person conducting the tour was completely unprepared. He did not know what to tell us and how to say it in English. We're asked him questions but the responses were short and basic. He didn't explain the history of the Chateau nor he knew the family history much. His explanation about the vineyard management and wine making process was also poor. He perhaps needs to write notes to remember what to say. We had two other tours which were fantastic. We're learned so much about vine growing, soil in the area, old and new techniques, wine making, blending of the wine and tasting of the wine. The two other tours explained in depth family and chateaux history. I recommend that you visit Chateau Cantenac for an exceptional tour at 10 and tasting of 2 wines and Chateau Troplong-Mondot for again outstanding tour at 20 and tasting of 3 wines to see what a good tour looks like. Your tasting only offered one vintage so no comparison of how the wine changes between years due to water conditions etc. I think your price of 15 per person was very expensive for the poor experience we had. I asked for a refund as the service provided did not meet an acceptable standard of a tour but received no response from the property.
